Domestos and Unilever Foundation reunite with Unicef
Domestos and the Unilever Foundation are joining forces again this year with Unicef to bring improved access to basic sanitation to millions of people across the world.
Rolling out now and available until the 30th September 2015, Domestos is giving shoppers the chance to contribute to Unicef’s sanitation programme by donating 3p from the sale of every 750ml bleach variant.
Consumers will easily be able to distinguish the specially designed packs on-shelf thanks to a red flash highlighting the partnership. Last year, the brand saw a sales uplift of 6% and expects this year’s campaign to be equally, if not more, successful as consumers increasingly look for brands that have shared values and beliefs.
The on-pack partnership will be supported with a creative digital campaign.
Trang Pham, brand manager for Domestos at Unilever UK, says: “As a leader in cleaning, with over 80 years of experience, hygiene is at the forefront of everything we do. We are committed to helping 25 million people gain improved access to a toilet by 2020, as part of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan.
“The partnership with Unicef will help us reach our target as we continue to educate people about the impact of poor sanitation and hygiene on the health of children around the world. By purchasing a pack of Domestos consumers can really feel that they are making a difference.”
Kate Goldman, corporate partnerships director at Unicef UK said: ‘It is shocking that every two minutes, somewhere in the world, a child dies as a result of poor sanitation and unsafe drinking water. Unicef is working hard to prevent these needless deaths and is working in partnership with Domestos and the Unilever Foundation to help make a difference to children in danger around the world.”
